VIDEO:  A Public Health Safety Net

Community Health Centers around the state provide essential care to Minnesota's underserved.  As more people are stuck without health insurance and regular health care, clinics like the Open Door Health Center in Mankato provide cost-effective preventive care regarldless of ability to pay.  Federally Qualified Health Centers like this help lower unnecessary costs to the health care system, but their budgets are in jeopardy of getting slashed in upcoming cuts.

Jonathan Watson directs public policy initiatives for the Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers.  He says that CHCs are an important safety net for underserved in Minnesota and should be protected into the future.
