Video: Tobacco Free Campuses

July 03, 2014 By Briana Johnson, Video Production Specialist

July 1st marked the day The University Of Minnesota announced they have officially become a tobacco-free campus. Students, faculty and staff joined together outside for food, fun, and entertainment at the Fresh Air Fair. Banned tobacco products include cigarettes, chewing tobacco as well as electronic cigarettes.  The University hopes that making the campus tobacco free will help those who want to quit, as well as limiting the amount of smoking during the day on campus.  With the tobacco-free campus, university administrators hope to discourage people from becoming smokers during their college years.
