VIDEO: Small Business Calls for Investments

Robyn Cruey needed a loan to help launch a small business art space in 2012. After a bank denial, she found resources from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) microloan program, administered through the non-profit WomenVenture.

After a decade of conservative state budget policy, many financial assistance programs for small businesses like Robyn's are at risk of drying up. She thinks more women need to become leaders in businesses and job creation, which can accelerate if the state puts a priority on raising revenue to invest in our citizens.
