VIDEO: Environmentally Conscious Options

When you “buy local” from Minnesota-based entrepreneurs and neighborhood retailers, there’s a better than even chance you are helping Minnesota’s environment as well as the local economy.  A recent Minnesota 2020 report examined how several Minnesota small businesses stand apart with a dedication to sustainability and local economic development in their business model. 

Environmentally Conscious Options (ECO) is a Duluth supplier of environmentally-friendly and non-toxic interior finishes for building and renovation.  With an abundance of choices of floor tiles to countertops to cabinet handles, owner Julie McDonnell says the consumer should pay less attention to the price tag and more attention to the sustainability of a particular material over the long term.
