Kitchen Table Conversations: Buying Time in the Housing Market

The housing market is holding back our economic recovery. Consumer confidence is flat as the job market remains unstable, and yet a strong housing market has a stimulative effect on the economy and boosts job creation. It's a bit of a Catch-22.

Economic Development fellow Lee Egerstrom talked with a St. Paul homeowner in transition. After no luck in the current market, his family chose to rent out their house to buy time for the right time to sell.
