Activated Voices: Communicating Science

Thanks to our investments in K-12 education and the University of Minnesota, the state is a scientific leader, with a legacy of developing new consumer products, foods, and medicines.

Yet executing meaningful experiments in a laboratory and developing new products is only part of the equation, says Laura Burrack, Ph.D., a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota in the College of Biological Sciences. She insists that science communication and literacy are of growing importance for all involved in the policy debate.
