Activated Voices: 21st Century Librarian

February 27, 2013 By Tom Niemisto, Video Production Specialist

Sometimes vocation takes you by surprise. Angela Gustafson was searching for her career until it found her. She tried working in education but could tell early on it wasn't for her. Almost by accident she volunteered to be a librarian and the rest fell into place. Years later she has a master's degree in Library Science from the University of St. Catherine, and is working in a small community library.

Being a librarian means something different than it did decades ago. She is dedicated to letting the library serve as a community gathering place in an media saturated world, while also keeping up with a rapidly changing media landscape.

Activated Voices is a video series from Minnesota 2020 that focuses on the critical policy issues facing young Minnesotans.
