VIDEO: No Summer Break for Blood Donors

Since blood, plasma, and platelets have a limited shelf life, demand stays constant. Donations, however, tend to drop in the summer months and around the holidays. Unlike other parts of health care, a community's blood supply depends largely on donations.
Approximately 7% of the Minnesotans donate blood on a regular basis, which is higher than the 5% national average. Here's a look at some of the people who keep the blood flowing.
