Video: The Levy Ballots Are In
Minnesota voters approved 88% of their recent education levies, one of the best approval rates Minnesota schools have had in the past 30 years. With these levies, many districts now have funding to help better educate their students, purchase things such as books, laptops, and add classrooms to their schools' infrastructure to better accommodate all there students.
These levies come on top of a new commitment from the state to starting making up for inflation adjusted cuts over the past decade. New state funding includes a boost in per pupil spending, early childhood education and an option for all day kindergarten. These investments are necessary to ensure schools have the tools to boost long term success for students.
