Video: Duluth Community School

May 01, 2014 By Briana Johnson, Video Production Specialist

Imagine a school open 7 days a week, serving as a community hub for not only learning but medical and other social services. Statewide only a few full service schools like this exist, including Myers-Wilkins Elementary in Duluth. The school offers dental, psychological, and ophthalmology services, increasing health care access to those generally underserved. It provides one-on-one tutoring and helps better integrate parents into the learning community. All of these services help ensure students are more focused on learning.
