Activated Voices: Economic Vibrancy in Immigrant Communities

In this installment of Activated Voices we talk with Semhar Araia, founder and executive director of the Diaspora African Women's Network (DAWN).
Taking a leap of faith, Araia left a career as a U.S.-Africa policy analyst in the middle of the down economy to formally launch DAWN, after recognizing the need to connect and amplify a new generation African-American women striving for social and economic empowerment.
DAWN's 200 members represent 28 African countries and the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, South America, and the Middle East.
